2013-2014 Official National PTA Back-to-School Kit

The 2013-2014 Official National PTA Back-to-School Kit is the first step in building your child’s tomorrow in Today’s PTA. It contains resources to help PTA leaders serve their communities and manage their local units including: easy-to-use guides for presidents, treasurer, membership and programs chairs; membership, fundraising, and marketing tools; program and advocacy resources; and special offers from national partners.

Beginning on June 28th, 2013, Official National PTA Back-to-School Kits will automatically be sent via postal mail to:

  • National officers, board members, and committee members
  • State PTA staff, presidents, presidents-elect, and membership chairs
  • Local units will receive packages based on the shipment dates that their state PTAs have selected
  • Shipments to local units, councils, districts, and regions will occur June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9, and August 23

2012-2013 Area II PTA Scholarship Awards

Area II Council is proud to announce the following recipients of our 2012-2013 Area II PTA Scholarship Awards:

The Area II Scholarship Committee presented eight $750 scholarships to the two or four-year accredited college or university selected by each recipient at the Area II Spring General Meeting and Banquet on April 30, 2013.

Soley funded through council membership and council contributions, the Area II PTA Scholarship program recognizes and supports outstanding seniors that exemplify PTA values and are committed to continuing their education at the college or university level.

The Area II Gwinnett County Council of PTAs nominating committee is pleased to announce the proposed slate of officers for 2013 – 2014:

The Area II nominating committee will present the 2013-2014 slate of officers and the election will take place at the Area II Spring General Meeting and Banquet on April 30, 2013 at Pinckneyville Middle School, 5440 West Jones Bridge Road, Norcross, GA 30092. Registration check-in and dinner will start at 6:00pm – 6:30pm. The business meeting (including election of officers) will be held from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.

2012-2013 Reflections State Competition Awards

Area II is proud to announce 47 students have been selected to receive state awards for their artistic achievement celebrating this year’s theme “The Magic of a Moment.”

Students will be recognized and learn their placement (first, second, third or honorable mention) at the Georgia PTA Awards Reception on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta (Memorial Arts Building – Rich Auditorium). All winning entries will be on display on the day of the ceremony from 2pm – 6pm.

This exciting, student-achievement program was very well received with a total of 543 entries and 66 special artist entries at the Area II council level. Congratulations to our Area II state winners and all those who participated in this year’s outstanding PTA Reflections Arts Recognition Program!
