Board members will also be asked to conduct workshops and may provide field services that require travel. In addition, board members will also attend Board Orientation Training, and should attend Georgia PTA functions including Advocacy Training, PTA Day at the Capitol, Reflections Receptions, etc.

“The Magic of a Moment”

Talented young artists from Area II Gwinnett County were recognized and showcased on November 3rd at the 2012-2013 Area II Gwinnett County Council of PTAs Reflections Exhibition & Reception. The event was held at the GCPS Instructional Support Center and welcomed contest artists, along with their family, friends, and participating schools to join together for a day that celebrated this year’s theme, “The Magic of a Moment” through the arts. Upon arrival, music filled the air and set a ‘magical’ tone with performances by Duluth Middle School orchestra, North Gwinnett Middle School orchestra, and Peachtree Ridge High School orchestra.

The Reflections Arts Recognition Program has been a national PTA student-achievement program for over 40 years. The excitement and enthusiasm this outstanding program generates for students and their schools is unmatched, with Georgia PTAs participating in the program at all PTA levels. In addition, the PTA Reflections Program increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

Area II Council hopes that each student who participated in this year’s program has felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. We are proud of them all!

Council Dues & Audits Due End of September…Taxes Coming Up

February 5, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

September is the month to send in your Dues (and donations) to the Council, as well as file your Audit Reports with the state PTA office.  Don’t wait until the end of the month – send in these items today!  Also – it is a great time to start preparing your taxes.  Even though they are not due until October or November (depending on your FY end – either May or June), don’t wait until the last minute to prepare and file them (or have someone prepare them for you).  Make sure to send the IRS 990 Verification form (along with a copy of page 1 of your tax return) to the state PTA office when you mail your returns to the Georgia Department of Revenue and IRS Center.  If you file the 990 electronically, you’ll need to send a copy of the e-filing receipt with the IRS 990 Verification form.
