A growing membership is an important part of the work of all PTAs. More members mean we can do more to affect legislation and school policies, provide safe and nurturing environments for children and increase parent involvement in our communities. Understanding and being able to explain the value of membership is a critical part of recruiting members and retaining them. Your role for your local PTA unit is to promote membership in the PTA by educating everyone involved in your school. And how the PTA organization has made a difference for children and youth nationwide.
